9 Months In, 9 Months Out

By Chelsea Baum, Quiet Corner CT Macaroni Kid Publisher November 14, 2019

Give it some time. It gets better. They grow up so fast! Nine months in, nine months out. The adages for new moms are plentiful and so many have to do with time and its passage. I am certain I stepped out of the space/time continuum that February 12th, nine months ago, when my babies came into the world. While it was a life-altering nine months to carry them, the past nine have placed us squarely on a new planet. I shared with a new twin mom that it took about three months to get out of sheer survival mode, six months for the fog to lift, and nine months to feel physically strong again. As moms, there are countless moments we want to speed up (sickness, doctor visits, stuck-inside days), while others we‘d love to freeze forever (baby giggling, cozy moments, everyone sleeping through the night). Local Quiet Corner Mama Hailey Santelli shared her holiday wisdom with me in our recent interview. I just love her reminder to soak up the time and not lose ourselves in holiday busyness. Like all things, a balance is ideal. Hopefully you will  find some family events here that will be exciting to add to your calendar. I’d recommend scheduling some moments for yourself as well - if only to breathe a moment and reset your own clock.

As always, let us know where to go and what to see! We are all ears. Check out our daily events, articles, and local info both here and on @quiet_corner_macaroni on Instagram, Quiet Corder Macaroni Kid on Facebook, and chelseabaum@macaronikid.com for email.
