March 4-March 10 Events & Activities in the Quiet Corner

There are over 20 events happening this week, so be sure to check out the full calendar to discover everything going on! We have storytimes, music and movement, Winter's Market in Plainfield, and the Maple Festival this weekend in Storrs!

Monday, March 4:

Toddler Time at the Thompson Library: Join us for a delightful session of rhymes, stories, songs, puppets, and more!  Geared for ages birth to 3.5 years.

Children's Storytime at the Brooklyn Town Library:   Join the Brooklyn Town Library for Children's Story Time! Children are welcome to listen to stories and move to music!

Tuesday, March 5: 

Toddler Playtime at the Canterbury Public Library: The Canterbury Public Library is hosting Toddler Playtime for kids 0-3. Stop by for weekly toddler playtime to have unstructured socialization with new friends!

Sensory Storytime at the Guilford Smith Memorial Library: The Guildford Smith Memorial Library is hosting a Sensory Storytime. Sensory Storytime is open to children ages 2 and up, and older/younger siblings may join. Each week, the library will offer children and their caregivers to listen to a story that incorporates the senses, followed by sensory stations and activities for children to explore.
No registration required

Monthly Craft Adventures at the West Woodstock Library: This is a fun monthly craft that is geared towards school-aged children, teens and even parents!  Come be creative and enjoy a make-your-own snack.

Wednesday, March 6: 

Anime & Manga Enthusiasts Club (teens) at the Killingly Library: Calling all Anime & Manga enthusiasts! Find solidarity and fun activities in our club! Join us on the first Wednesday of each month as we dive into the world of Anime & Manga. Remember to register separately for each date. 

Thursday, March 7:

Story Time at Pomfret Public Library: Join us every Thursday, starting January 18, at 10:30 am for a delightful Story Time journey! Immerse yourself in captivating stories, groovy music, dance, sensory play, and socializing. Every child is welcome, especially those aged 1-5 years who will love the experience. No registration is required—just drop by and join the fun!

Friday, March 8:

Music & Movement at the Mansfield Public Library: Get ready to groove! Join us for an interactive, music-based program in Buchanan Auditorium at the library. Music & Movement is designed to help young children develop early literacy skills and enhance fundamental motor skills through fun for the whole family.  Best for ages 0-4, but all families are welcome. No registration needed. Let's dance into the rhythm of fun!

Saturday, March 9

Winter Market 2024 at Plainfield High School: Exciting news! Join us for the annual Winter Market at Plainfield High School on Saturday, March 9. Our goal is to showcase the richness of our local community, featuring products from farms, artisans, and organizations. Explore a diverse array, including Apparel & Bags, Arts & Crafts, Baked Goods, Dairy, Candles, Fruits & Vegetables, Jewelry, Kitchenware, Pet Supplies, Skincare, Soaps, Spices, Woodwork, & Much More.

Saturday & Sunday March 9 & 10

Eastern CT Maple Festival in Storrs: It's time for MAPLE TREATS and more!! Food trucks, kids activities and games, live music, artisans and makers, demonstrations, the history of maple sugaring, making maple syrup, and much more.
